Our Story

Benets Café has been part of Cambridge life since 2006. What began as a small shop on Bene’t Street soon found its home on King’s Parade, overlooking some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Over the years, Benets has become a place where locals, students, and visitors gather to enjoy simple pleasures: a scoop of gelato, a perfectly made coffee, or just a quiet seat with one of the best views in town.

From the beginning, our aim has been straightforward: create a welcoming space and serve food and drink made with care. Nearly twenty years on, that philosophy hasn’t changed. Every scoop of gelato is crafted by hand in our kitchen using authentic Italian methods and the best ingredients we can source.

Our coffee is roasted by Dark Arts Coffee in London—a roastery known for bold flavours and an uncompromising approach—and we’re proud to be the only café in Cambridge serving it. Brewed by skilled baristas who care about every cup, it’s coffee that stands out, just like we aim to.

And when the day stretches into evening, Benets offers something extra: a small but thoughtful list of cocktails and spritzes, each made with the same care we bring to our gelato and coffee. It’s not about flash or fuss—just drinks that are refreshing, well-balanced, and easy to enjoy.

Whether you’re popping in for an espresso, cooling off with gelato on a sunny afternoon, or sipping an Aperol spritz as the sun sets, Benets is a place to slow down and feel at home.
